About: The Agentic AI Control Plane
Welcome to The Agentic AI Control Plane. We are witnessing a fundamental shift from AI as a passive "assistant" to AI as an autonomous "agent." However, this transition is currently bottlenecked by fragmented OS hooks, proprietary silos, and a lack of standardized session security.
This site serves as a research appliance and technical repository dedicated to solving the Crisis of the Agentic Handshake. Our goal is to architect a vendor-neutral, hardware-aware Control Plane that enables secure, decentralized autonomy across the edge and the cloud.
Core Research Series
The Protocols
Focus: Architecting the Handshake. This series explores the move away from fragmented OS-level "hooks" toward a standardized session layer. We deep-dive into decentralized agent discovery, identity persistence, and our impending proposal for a telecom-grade Agentic Control Plane.
The Benchmarks
Focus: Quantifying Trusted Autonomy. Moving beyond simple model performance, we evaluate the "Undo Tax" and Human Agency. This series provides empirical data on Intent Integrity, contextual friction, and the security of agentic discovery on both edge silicon (Jetson/Orin) and cloud infrastructure.
AI Silicon
Focus: The Hardware Foundation. Autonomy requires specialized silicon. We provide architectural analysis of the global semiconductor landscape, covering the "usual suspects" like NVIDIA and Broadcom, as well as custom silicon from Amazon, Google, Meta, OpenAI, and the emerging XPU startup ecosystem.
About the Author: Vinay R. Rao
Vinay R. Rao is a technology leader and systems strategist with over 30 years of experience spanning telecom, embedded systems, and generative AI.
As a former Principal Solutions Architect for Gen AI at AWS, Vinay supported the Amazon Q, Panorama and Lookout for Vision teams, helping bridge the gap between bleeding-edge R&D and production-grade AI systems. His background in high-performance interconnects and industrial-scale AI (including computer vision AI defect detection for one of the world's largest automobile manufacturer) provides a unique systems-level perspective on the requirements for autonomous agency. Prior to AWS, Vinay was a part of Amazon's Alexa Voice Service (AVS) where he served as a Principal Solutions Architect. He co-authored the Alexa Mobile Accessory Protocol allowing Alexa to work over Bluetooth and power hundreds of 3rd party earbuds, headphones, Bluetooth speakers and car accessories. Vinay also held several roles in a series of startups ranging from CTO to Director of Systems Architecture.
